Tennyson King
Tennyson King is the embodiment of virtually everything you’d ever want from a contemporary songwriter. Like a 21st century troubadour, King brings an irresistible personality to listeners worldwide, capturing audiences with his reverberant and earthy folk-rock sound as well as his intimate and humorous brand of lyrical storytelling. On his latest singles “Wild Rose” & “Garden Of Truth”, King’s sound has reached a watershed moment where it does more than just impress with its indie-folk sensibilities. Interspersed with dashes of shimmering pop textures and traces of sun-soaked psychedelia, is this sense of raw, artistic honesty not unlike that of one Jack Johnson. With his recent releases, King has gone from his humble beginnings to blossom into one of 2020’s independent movers and shakers.
With a passion to travel, Tennyson has toured in Australia, Canada, China, South East Asia and Europe. He has been invited to perform at festivals such as Shambala In Your Heart (Thailand), Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival (Australia), Beaches Jazz Festival (Canada), Island Folk Festival (Canada) to name a few.
Having performed with such notable acts as Paul Dempsey, Paul Woseen, Yirrmal, Geoff Achison, Clare Bowditch, Bashar Murad, Basia Bulat, The Jerry Cans, Whitehorse, Sloan, Elliot Broode, and Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, Tennyson is accustomed to bringing the ‘wow’ factor to stages around the globe. He has recently co-written songs with Adrian X (Drake, The Weeknd), Terra Lightfoot & Moe Berg (Pursuit of Happiness).
If you’re looking for the place where your soul can be wild and your heavy-heart assuaged, follow the sound of Tennyson’s crisp, round voice, as he plucks an electric chord and hammers out a beat on the kick-drum. Tennyson is a true folk rock nomad.
