Chris Powell’s love affair with music started when he first heard The Who’s “My Generation” in 1979, and has lasted more than four decades. A fan of big riffs and bad attitudes, he might not remember where he left his house keys, but he can effortlessly recall the track list and key recording dates for The Heartbreakers’ punk classic L.A.M.F. He spends much of his professional life writing about media, marketing and advertising, where he regularly attempts to slip obscure musical references past his editors. Liner-note writer is his dream job.
