Angelo Gio Mateo is a storyteller, advocate, and community builder. He is a proud Filipino-Canadian from Toronto. Angelo is a policy professional, with a career working in government, consulates, and law firms. However, music has always been his first love and passion. He is a music writer who has reviewed albums and tracks, covered concerts and festivals, profiled artists, and written personal essays in publications such as Exclaim!, Demo Music Magazine, Wavelength, A.Side, and his own personal blog. He has spent the pandemic expanding his vinyl collection with the money he would be spending on live concerts. Angelo is currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Policy in Digital Society at McMaster University, hoping to make an impact on immigration, mental health, and music policy.
